Why you need to keep escape routes smoke-free

The Essen Fire Brigade did a great job with a staff of more than 150 rescue helpers for hours, only 3 people were briefly in the hospital with smoke gas poisoning, which they were able to leave on the same day.

The stairwells of all buildings in the VIVAWEST residential complex in the green center of Essen are equipped with HAHN louvre windows type S9-iVt-05 (installed by Kremer Fenster-Türen-Metallbau) which keep rescue and escape routes accessible for residents and rescuers alike because they are smoke-free: Because all emergency exits are useless if they can no longer be reached in the event of a fire.

We are incredibly relieved that no one was injured in this devastating fire.
