With an area of more than 3 million people in the Staffordshire and North Wales area, the clinic complex with buildings in Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford is one of the largest clinics in the UK. With state-of-the-art medical devices, more than 900,000 patients are examined every year in the different departments of the clinic.
The new and partial reconstruction of the existing clinic buildings according to the latest standards took place in several construction phases from 2010-2015.
For the ventilation, 980no HAHN Louvre Windows were used in different designs. Some of the windows are equipped with 24-volt actuators (of course, with finger trapping protection integrated) into the smoke exhaust control system, in order to keep the escape routes for evacuation in the event of a fire.
In other building sections, manually operated special levers are used which offer additional safety: the cranks can be operated with only one hand without great effort, but can also be removed from the window for safety reasons after use.
The openings between the louvres were additionally reduced by intermediate security bars.
Through these methods, the HAHN Louvre Windows used for this building comply with the building regulations in the UK for the use of ventilation devices in public buildings with regard to people with limited physical and mental abilities and can therefore be safely used.
In this way, Louvre Windows offer the widest possible opening area without restrictions.
In order to generate a fall protection proof version of HAHN Louvre Windows, basically no intermediate security bars are necessary. However, if these or other supplementary materials are required according to local regulations, we will also find a solution for your project.
